Spring Forward and How It’ll Affect your Dog

Now that Daylight Savings is just in a few days, you’re probably thinking about how you’ll be losing an hour of sleep. Truth is, your pet is affected just as much as you are. This is because some animals become accustomed to their daily routine that the one-hour spring forward can throw them off schedule. 

Animals, just like humans have an internal clock that tells them when to eat, sleep, and wake-up. However, the pet owner’s set their pet’s schedule in which then they’ll get used to. If your schedule changes, then so will your pet’s.

Solution:

While you won’t have any control on when it gets dark or light out, you can always ease the transition to spring forward by slowly altering walking and feeding schedules. This way, your pet won’t get confused or have anxiety when their daily routine dramatically changes.
